Katamino Duo is a special two-player edition of our best-selling Katamino game. Players are given different sets of pieces to fill in the same sized area on each board. The winner has first pick of a Pentamino to give to their opponent, and then the bar is raised to play the next round. Quick wits and quick hands will determine the winner in Katamino Duo!

Katamino Duo is a game for all the family, play solo or with 2 players. In two player mode you need to be the fastest to fit all your game pieces perfectly into your playing surface , with rounds becoming progressively harder. Playing solo: challenge yourself to find the maximum of shapes among the hundreds of millions of possibilities. Katamino Duo is a fantastic way of introducing geometry and spatial awareness: this educational game, exciting and accessible for everyone, is truly addictive!

Katamino is an ever changing puzzle, a stimulating brain teaser and a little construction set all in one.

The aim is to build perfect units called PENTAS by placing a certain number of pentaminos on the game board.

The game consists of 12 different pieces constructed of right angled blocks so each piece is made of 5 "squares". (Think Tetris pieces, but 5 squares instead of 4.)
The gameboard is constructed with a movable divider so one can take sets of 4 up to the whole set of 12 pieces and form them into a 5 block by X rectangle. (Where X = the number of wood blocks in your set.)

The two or three player strategy game is accomplished on a square board divided into 64 smaller squares. Players take turns to place a piece on the gameboard. The first player who cannot place a piece anymore loses. (Similar to Blokus)

The two player puzzle game mode is accomplished by dividing the board into two sections, each player chooses five blocks and are also given 4 small "filler" blocks of 1 and 2 squares. The first one to fit all their blocks perfectly into their half of the rectangle board, wins.

Independent studies in the U.K. (including an educational thesis) show that Katamino helps to develop and maintain Manual Dexterity, Spatial Awareness, Geometric concepts and Logical Reasoning and for this reason Katamino has also won a number of international 'educational' awards.
